Where Are We Now?
Untapped Goldmines is 100% – not for profit. It is at the present moment, a passion project for Cijaye DePradine.
She does work full time, with Unbounce Marketing Solutions Inc. and is kicking off their very first Learning & Development department. This is where her daily focus is.
Cijaye records Untapped Goldmine webinars and podcasts in her spare time. Usually on weekends – when her family hits the gym or gets out to socialize or during vacation hours.
Untapped Goldmines serves as an extra outlet for Cijaye to share all that she has learned that can be of value to others (rebels and traditionalists alike). These are subjects that make her a trusted advisor to leaders, teams and inviduals. These are the subjects that draw people into Cijaye in the first place.
Subjects will range from complexity thinking to clear frameworks for everyday excution in business.
The goal is to help listeners discover the same tools and experts Cijaye has leaned on to untap the hidden potential in people & profits.
As show host, Cijaye will always be mindful of the Corporate Culture and keep the rebel within as tame as possible.
That said, you should expect to find some unconventional and perhaps counter-intuitive / rebellious tips and resources as a listener on the show.
Afterall, greatness usually occurs when you are courageous enough to break the rules!
Cijaye hopes that some part of everyone who listens in is willing to take that leap every once in a while.
Where it all began
Once upon a time, there was a little (rather rebelious) girl that dreamed of being a teacher. Then as life progressed, trauma chased her and trouble found her. She battled hard to fight against the machines (poverty, school, expectations). She knew she did not fit in, anywhere. She was always a square peg in a round hole. She could NEVER be a teacher. They would never let her in.
At least that was the story she started telling herself.
This caused immense strife within her soul. She found herself lost and angry. A lot! This gave birth to a new self. One that carried with it an armour to protect against additional rejection and pain.
As a perpetual fighter in a straight and narrow world, this little girl learned to put on a happy face, while looking out for the underdogs. As word got out that there was someone on their side, the underdogs showed up in droves. Eventually this girl found herself running with armies of fighters. More rebels against the machine. All with thick armour and some with various weapons. Each, fighting for their place in this world.
And then one day, she made a life altering decision.
“Finally”, said the elders; rejoicing in the fact that “she now had the chance to survive passed the age of 19 (no longer a victim of one of her rediculous wars)”.
No longer a little girl, she rejected her given name and called herself by her initials (CJ). CJ realized she did not want to fight against the machines anymore, she wanted to build them, in her own vision.
- She started by rewriting how her name was spelled. CJ turned to Cijaye.
- She then saved her money working as a club promoter and put herself through college so that she could find a bigger voice – using marketing communications.
- Later, she opened her own marketing agency, helping (through mentorship, coaching and training) small businesses (the underdogs of the business world) use marketing as their voice.
- She also committed herself to being a Program Lead for a private College – teaching students the power of marketing (online & offline)
After many successesses and failures, Cijaye had finally recognized that she had beat the machines. While the machines still existed in their own orderly way, Cijaye had carved her own path in life, she made her own decisions, she helped others do the same. She was finally proud of who she had become and how she had done it. She let go of the battle within (and it was always within). She accepted (without apology) that she was unique and complex and that was ok.
She also accepted that she would always need an outlet to learn more, be more and do more.
What Drives It? (Who is Cijaye)
Since the age of 19, this once rebellious kid, Cijaye has taken to a more orderly life.
Cijaye dropped her armour, said farewell to the rebel armies & hello to Corporate appopriate attire / behaviors .
As any reformed rebel might, Cijaye has mostly worked with business owners and leadership of pioneering organizations and industry. You know, the ones that are fighting to make the world a better place and not afraid to lead the way.
Among them are:
Cijaye has also continued her education (her weapons of choice) – under the following:
For the last 5 years, Cijaye has been immersing herself in the Corporate world. Staying low & undercover. Most of her time is spent in Organizational Learning & Development or team building / Coaching with technology leaders / teams.
She is a naturally complex, strategic and big picture thinker. Cijaye loves to ideate and solution problems.
Tapping into her rebel army background – she is often called upon by leadership groups and their teams to assist with major change management iniatives and transformations.
Using her various untapping weapons, she now seeks out and mines for gold daily!
This is where Untapped Goldmines – the show, plays a very big role. This show is giving Cijaye an EXTRA outlet for her various (educational) weapons.
This show is preventing her from using them in unwanted ways – in the wrong places or at the wrong times. (Aka: Causing mass destruction).
