The Untapped Strategy
Because the vision for Untapped Goldmines is to inspire greatness in tomorrows leaders, the strategy is:
To connect with those who inspire us to think different, be different and embrace change for the sake of achieving even more greatness in our complex world.
Yes, our world is complex! Whether we like it or not, whether we demand order or not, we are still dealing with a complex world. Why and how will be revealed in our podcasts and events. To give a brief overview however, this is just one example of what I (Cijaye) believe makes our world complex:
- Each human (agent) has a unique persona (derived from their individual personality to cultural, religious and learned perspectives)
- We all bring our uniqueness to the work we do and the interactions we have with others
- We are impacting each other by verbal and non-verbal communication every single day
- And, when we are brought together to work in / on an project – that project is defined by or contributed to by other agents – that have differing persona’s from our own
- For the sake of our projects we are expected to get on the same page in order to move things forward
- But we are not given the tools to TRULY acknowledge the value of our diverse thinking and we run away to our silo’s to work on “our parts” – forgetting that we are greater as one – or that we may be greater IF we brought all of our diversity together
- In addition to all the above, we are operating in and from systems that are part of a greater ecosystem
- When one system changes – it is often entangled enough with other systems – and therefore changing portions of those systems at the same time
- If we are not thinking from a systemic perspective, we are simply DOING what is on our to do list / Jira board – and going about our business
- Then – when we get back together to share what we have done, there are always changes to be made or gaps to close
- If we do not remember that with these changes or gap closures – we are still impacting the other systems we are entangled with, we create additional ripples
So, how do we keep up? How do accept the uncertainty and get better at identifying the unknowns that comes with change – in order to achieve more greatness?
How do we do this without imposing more order – while also encouraging the emergence of the unexpected and even better?
We think and act our way into being different. It is a yes, and proposal. We think more granular about where we are now, make better sense of it. Taking us from where we are now to where we can be tomorrow – with a realistic view of the ecosystems we are operating within and all the agents / interactions that will inevitably impact it moment to moment, change initiative to change initiative.
